The first thing to be said about Long’s Bar – yep, here we go – is that it is, reportedly, the longest bar in the Middle East. Now we’ve got that claim to fame out the way, we can add that’s it’s a reliably buzzing old school expat bar of the kind that are increasingly rare – a spot of Old Dubai bang in the middle of Sheikh Zayed Road, if you will. Loosely American in theme, it’s a dark, underground, smoky pub which gets rowdy at weekends, but boasts a separate dining area to escape the bustle. Good for the footie, too, with 15 screens blaring the game, and there’s a cheesy live DJ from 10pm each night. Nothing remarkable here, but we’ve got a soft spot for long-running Long’s, especially during the hotter months when it really comes into its own as folk move inside
